South Berwick Water District was established in 1960 as a quasi-municipal water district.
This means we are affiliated with the Town of South Berwick but are not a part of the town.
We operate under strict rules and regulations with the Public Utilities Commission (PUC)
and the Maine Drinking Water Program.

Clean water is a routine feature of our daily lives. The tasks of locating, collecting,
treating, and distributing that water; testing constantly to ensure quality and safety;
and monitoring environmental measures require complex equipment and employees
with skills in engineering, biology, and chemistry.

At the South Berwick Water District, the result is drinking water that meets or exceeds
every State and Federal standard. No need to filter for taste...we've won "Best Tasting
Drinking Water In Maine" four times.
